Insights from the main claims insurance event in Germany
Schadenemanagement & Assistance 2023, the two-day insurance event in Leipzig, welcomed almost 1,300 guests, around 100 exhibitors and more than 70 speakers. From Gen Z's demands to the impact of climate change on the industry, attendees were treated to a smorgasbord of presentations and discussions, each shedding light on a different aspect of the ever-evolving field of claims insurance.
We were also there, exhibiting and participating in expertise exchange, and here is a snippet of what we’ve learned:
Experts delved into topics such as digital mobility ecosystems and innovative services like telematics tariffs and car subscriptions.
Exhibitors presented AI-supported systems for automating car damage assessment through 3D scanning and sophisticated cameras.
Michael Szönyi from Zurich Insurance Company Ltd emphasized the importance of prevention and urging the industry to view risk reduction as an investment.
Alica Menzel and Julia Klüh from SIGNAL IDUNA Group (the company is also one of our clients) offered insights on agile structures for AI development.
All in all, the event was insightful, to say the least, leaving attendees with a newfound appreciation for the complex and dynamic world of insurance.
Or as Aleš Zajc, our Business Dev Manager, summarized: “Insurers are adopting digital technologies to speed up claim assessment and enhance CX and are investing into connectivity hubs to automate cooperation with 3rd party repair specialists. Our AdInsure Claims solution meets these requirements with flexible workflows, role design, no-code/low-code approach, and a modern integration framework allowing easy integration with partners and service providers.”

Low-code and agile: The dynamic duo for digital business innovation
So you want be a digital powerhouse? You will need three things: people, process, and tech!
According to Forrester's report, "Low-Code and Agile: Rocket Fuel for Digital Business" by John Bratincevic and Diego Lo Giudice, Principal Analysts for Forrester, you need to team up agile practices with low-code platforms for the ultimate digital transformation.
Sure, finding the right developers can be like finding a diamond in a haystack. And getting everyone on board with agile practices can be a redious task. But fear not! Bratinicevic and Lo Guidice say that low-code platforms are the missing piece in digital thinking, as they lead to the agile behaviours (the ones that change management programs often fail to achieve alone). They make sprints shorter, experimentation easier, and development more collaborative. Plus, put low-code platforms and agile practices together, scale like a boos and boom! You've got yourself some digital transformation rocket fuel!
However! While it’s great for non-techies to get in on the development action, we’ll
always need the real MVPs in this game - skilled software developers, who can build complex and scalable applications like nobody's business. And hey, let's be real. We all need to brush up on our soft skills, like talking to people without sounding like a robot, collaborating, and adapting to changes. These skills are especially important in an agile development environment, where teamwork makes the dream work and being flexible is key. Remember, agile isn't just a set of practices. It's a whole mindset!
